Let's start with the sensation that brought you here, the one you've checked most. I'm not going to tell you it's nothing; I don't know your body, and guessing isn't my job. But there is a fact about every human body, including the healthiest, that makes a lot of what's been happening make sense.
Right now, in any healthy body, sensations are firing constantly. A muscle twitches. The gut moves and gurgles. The heart adds or skips a beat when you stand up or drink coffee. A nerve pings for no reason. Skin itches, joints ache, vision sparkles when you stand too fast. None of it is malfunction; it is simply the sound of a body running.
When researchers ask ordinary people to write down every sensation they notice for a week, the lists come back long, and they come back long for everyone. Most people just never tune in. The sensations fire, nobody listens, and they pass unrecorded.
What changed for you is that you started listening. Attention is not a passive microphone; it behaves like a search, and a search returns results. When you scan your body for something wrong, you will find sensations, because sensations are always there. The scan doesn't discover a problem. It discovers the static and holds it up to the light.
Then comes the misread. A magnified sensation, plus a frightening story about it, feels like evidence. Look at what actually happened, though: the input was static, the same kind every body on that list produces, and your alarm filed it in the wrong drawer, under 'danger' when it belonged under 'body noise.'
Now the rule that makes all of this safe, and it is not negotiable in either direction. A new symptom, or a real change in an old one, gets one proper medical evaluation. Not zero: this program will never ask you to ignore your body. And not five, because the second, third, and fourth evaluations of the same thing aren't medicine anymore. They're checking.
So that's the ground: your body is noisy because it's alive, your attention has been amplifying the noise, and every genuinely new question gets exactly one real answer. From here on, we work from your data, not from the worst thing your mind can imagine at 2 a.m.
